Gică Hagi (60 years old) was asked, after Turkey – Romania 1-0, if he will take over the Romanian national team from Mircea Lucescu.
„The King” is expected to take over the position of head coach after the friendly match that Romania will play in Slovakia, in the duel of the defeated teams from the semi-finals of the World Cup qualifying play-offs.
Upon returning to the country, after being with the national team in Istanbul, Gică Hagi was asked about taking over the coaching position.
"It's not a subject to talk about now, I was just in the stands, I watched the match, we'll see, you never know," stated Gică Hagi, according to Digi Sport.
Gică Hagi previously sat on the bench of the Romanian national team in 2001, during the play-offs against Slovenia for the qualification to the 2002 World Cup, which was lost by the "tricolors".
