Gary Lineker watched the Romania – Netherlands 0-3 match from the EURO 2024 round of 16 and made a statement full of honesty.
The former English striker noticed the superiority of the Netherlands over Romania, but was surprised by how well the „tricolors” played in the first fifteen minutes.
Lineker pointed out the moment when the Romania - Netherlands match "broke."
"The Netherlands looked very good for the first time in this tournament. Romania started the match very well, but the Netherlands dominated afterwards, missed a lot of chances. After the first 15 minutes, I said: 'Oh my God! How high Romania is playing,' but then the goal came, and they didn't have the necessary quality to come back," said Gary Lineker on the The Rest Is Football podcast.
Romania was eliminated by the Netherlands from the EURO 2024 round of 16. The "Clockwork Orange" defeated the Romanian national team 3-0, ending the beautiful dream of the European Championship in Germany, after the "tricolors" had won Group E.
