In the first round of the Trophee Clarins tournament, Simona Halep will face American McCartney Kessler (24 years old, 123 WTA). The match will take place on Tuesday, May 14, after 3:00 PM, Romania time.
It will be the third match of the day on the central court of the Paris tournament, following Alize Cornet - Yuliia Starodubtseva and Anastasia Zakharova - Diane Parry.
It will also be the first match that Simona Halep plays after only competing on March 19 at the Miami Open in the first round, where she lost to Paula Badosa. The match against the Spanish athlete represents, so far, the only official match played by Simona in 2024.
If she advances past McCartney Kessler, Simona Halep will face Emma Navarro (USA, 22 WTA) in the second round.
