Footballer Ionuț Șerban (28 years old), former player of teams Dinamo Bucharest or Sportul Studențesc, is going through extremely delicate moments and needs the support of those around him.
After experiencing an unexplained illness, Șerban was admitted on Thursday evening to the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital, and later transferred to the Fundeni Clinical Institute in the capital city.
The footballer urgently needs blood at this moment, type B(3) with Rh negative. The news came through the portal observatorulph.ro, which also announces that a definitive diagnosis has not yet been established: "Very low hemoglobin levels require Ionuț to need two vital blood components: erythrocyte mass and thrombocyte mass. These are needed until the investigations are completed and a diagnosis is made," as reported by the aforementioned source.
In a press release, the first league club Petrolul Ploiești also mentioned Șerban's situation and requested support and help on his behalf: "Former first-tier player, Ionuț Șerban (28 years old) from Ploiești, urgently needs help. Unfortunately, following an unexplained illness, Ionuț, father of a 9-year-old girl, was taken to the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital on Thursday night, where, following preliminary analyses, he was transferred to the Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest for detailed investigations. Ionuț urgently needs blood donation with type B(3) Rh negative. Those with the respective blood type who can and want to help are asked to come urgently in the following days to the Ploiești Blood Transfusion Center and to announce that they have B(3) NEGATIVE. They will have priority for donation. Also, at the time of donation, it must be mentioned: "Șerban Ionuț Daniel - Fundeni - Hematology Department 1 - Dr. Barbu Sânziana," Petrolul Ploiești announced in a statement.
Șerban played for 8 years at Dinamo, between 2013 and 2021, being considered at the beginning of his career a great hope of Romanian football. During the eight years spent at Dinamo, Ionuț Șerban played in 77 matches, scored one goal, and provided 3 assists. After Dinamo, he also played for teams like CS Blejoi or Cetate Turnu Măgurele. He also earned four caps for the Romanian Under 21 national team.
