Today's decision comes in the context of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu meeting with party representatives (even those not in Parliament) for two days to discuss the dates for organizing the two types of elections.

Most participating parties have expressed their desire for the elections to take place as scheduled.

In addition, the possibility of combining a round of presidential elections with parliamentary elections was also discussed, but it was decided not to pursue this option.
