Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, attending a joint government meeting in Munich (and the national team’s match at Euro 2024), started making jokes about … garlic and vampires.
Ciolacu met with the Prime Minister of Bavaria on Tuesday, inviting him to Romania to visit the Danube Delta and Dracula’s Castle.
"I would like to invite you to Bucharest as soon as possible, to have an economic forum, to visit the Danube Delta, and last but not least, Dracula's Castle. I maintain my opinion, regardless of how much garlic we eat, let's not go on a full moon night but on a normal night," said Ciolacu.
"I think it's enough if we eat some grilled minced meat before, I believe it contains so much garlic that vampires will not dare to approach us anymore," replied Markus Söder.
"I wish you success at the European Championship, only if you play against Germany, know that I will not wish you success anymore," added the Prime Minister of Bavaria.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, a potential candidate for the presidential elections, is in Germany, where he met with Romanian fans, took photos with supporters' children, and posted them on the Internet. Ciolacu also attended the first match that the Romanian national football team played at the European Football Championship EURO 2024, alongside Ukraine.
This period marks 25 years of Romania's relations with the Bavarian state.
