The premise from which, in my opinion, any discussion about the period we are living through globally should start is that the USA have fallen into the hands of a convicted criminal and his gang of oligarchs who couldn’t care less about their country’s interests, let alone about morality, principles, and values, but only about their own interests.
There is no real ideological battle between conservatism and progressivism. Donald Trump is not the first conservative Republican president of the USA. Let’s just remember Ronald Reagan.
But none of them understood conservatism as crude misogyny, total disdain for human dignity, and highwayman behavior. The messiah of global sovereignty is trying to seize Greenland, Canada, Ukraine's rare earth minerals, and pretty much whatever else he fancies for his friends. Negotiating peace with the aggressor over the head of the still sovereign victim, isn't that right?
- Zelenski has a 57% trust rating, not 4% as Trump claims. Lavrov exults after the American president's attack
How cynical must one be to reproach the victim for the aggression. Why didn't she negotiate to avoid the war? In other words, why didn't the raped woman avoid rape through a "deal." Like what? Just normal sex without perversions? Just one, not all from the group? Just once, not continuously? Okay, we're good, we shake hands!
How deranged must one be to label the president of the invaded country as a dictator, using the tyrannical invader's words, because he didn't organize elections under bombs? Should Romania rely on this man for its defense against Russia?
Margaret Thatcher was a conservative. Do you think there's any connection with Trump?
There is nothing ideologically sophisticated in the primitive policy of the fist. All the thugs from around the blocks practice it, sheriffs at their level too. I want, I can, I have. It's simple, it's primitive, like the sheriff from Washington.
Donald Trump and his people talk about freedom of expression as the supreme value. What does it mean in the Trumpist understanding, though? Extreme violence, wild hatred for anything different, lies, slander, sexism, racism, all the demons of the mind and soul unleashed as main campaign weapons.
Trumpism brings out the worst in people, darkens minds with the drug of total uninhibition, trampling on feelings, sensitivities, destinies, dignity.
Trumpist freedom of expression is the freedom to be despicable because you can, to lie because you shout the loudest, to humiliate because you feel untouchable. And this primitive grin is magnetic for all the frustrated, regardless of their level of education.
Donald Trump gives lessons on democracy and the rule of law, but he began his term by professionally hacking the judges who investigated him. Pardoning those who committed one of the most shocking acts of violence in recent history - the assault on the Capitol.
According to the Financial Times, his special envoy is pressuring Romania to release the Tate brothers, two chimpanzees accused of human trafficking, rape, pimping. The interceptions with them published in the press are sinister. I repeat, it's not about white-collar crimes, but pure mafia.
These creatures were campaign vectors for Trump, heralding the American empire that will encompass Greenland, Canada, Mexico, and whatever else the Messiah of sovereignty desires.
Here we are, that's the premise, that's what the civilized world has to deal with, and adapt to this reality. There is nothing ideological, nothing principled, nothing decent in the new policy of the Washington oligarchy. It is a Caesarism of thievery and cynicism that has risen on the unleashing of hatred.
This doesn't mean that it emerged out of nothing. Just as Georgescu didn't appear out of thin air here. He came from exaggerations that irritated and radicalized the public. He came from a terrible crisis of leadership at the global level. He came from too much good and its boredom.
These causes must be addressed so that the inevitable price of this historical accident is not in vain.
