A woman from Prahova who was being transported by a private ambulance was left in a forest by the driver after she allegedly criticized her for aggressive driving. The patient was fortunate that a police crew passed by the area.
The woman was being transported by the private ambulance to a dialysis center in Ploiești, and it was not the first time she had made this journey. In the past, she had been involved in a road accident with such an ambulance, and when she saw that the driver was driving aggressively, she criticized her, as reported by Antena 3.
"After I told her that, she got upset, stopped the car, and took me out of the ambulance right into the forest, as you go towards Câmpina. She simply abandoned me in that field," said Norica Hîncu, the patient.
The woman called 112 when she found herself on the side of the road without documents and money. It so happened that a police car passed by the area at that time. The woman told the officers what had happened, and shortly after, the ambulance arrived.
"After picking up other patients from the area, the ambulance driver returned, asking the caller to get in, but she refused, and the ambulance continued its journey. Later, the driver returned again, asking the woman to get in, and she accepted, continuing the journey to the medical facility," stated Maria Magdalena Vîiu Rădulescu from the Prahova County Police.
The woman says that the way she was treated was unfair, considering her health problems: "What happened to me didn't seem normal. My documents show how many health problems I have. I have been on dialysis for four months and some."
The management of the medical center that contracted the transport service for dialysis patients is conducting investigations into the situation, but maintains that it is a minor incident and that the patient has neuro-psychological problems and insisted on getting out of the car.
"To me, it seems like a minor incident. Especially since we are talking about a dialysis patient with neuro-psychological problems. (...) She was not taken out. She imperatively asked to get out," said Cristian Vintilescu, the medical center director.
There were no criminal offenses found in this case, so the police did not open an investigation file.
