American President Donald Trump stated that both Israel and Iran have violated the ceasefire conditions by launching armed attacks after the deadline set Tuesday morning for the cessation of hostilities. He also said he would try to stop a combat mission launched by Israel.
In a statement addressed to reporters before leaving for the NATO summit in The Hague, Donald Trump said he is „not pleased” with Israel and Iran, adding that he is „very displeased” with Israel, as reported by Sky News.
"I'm not sure they did it intentionally. They couldn't control their people," he also said about the ceasefire violation.
Trump: Israel must calm down
The US President added that Iran no longer has nuclear capabilities and that Tehran will never rebuild its nuclear program.
"We need to make the people in Israel calm down because they went on a mission this morning," Trump told reporters. "We need to make the people in Israel calm down," he repeated.
"I don't like the fact that Israel went into battle this morning, and I will see if I can stop that. As soon as I leave here, I will see if I can stop that," he told journalists.
Israel and Iran "have been fighting so fiercely and for so long, that I don't know what the hell they are doing, you understand?" President Trump also said, visibly irritated by the crisis in the Middle East.
In a subsequent post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that it would be a "major violation" if Israel were to launch bombs on Iran now, telling them to "bring their pilots home, now."
Iran accuses Israel and looks towards "referee" Trump
The Iranian army announced on Tuesday that Israel launched three waves of rockets after the ceasefire announced by American President Donald Trump, as reported by EFE, cited by Agerpres.
"The military forces had previously announced that they will not leave any aggression unanswered and that this regime will pay a high price," said a spokesperson for the Unified Operational Command Khatam al-Anbiya.
The attack allegedly took place after the ceasefire began on Tuesday at 4:00 GMT, 7:00 in Israel, and 7:30 in Iran, according to Trump's announcement.
Iran's accusation comes hours after the Israeli army reported detecting a new rocket attack from Iran.
