The unusual message a pilot wrote in the sky. How his boss reacted

A British pilot has gone viral after using the airplane’s route to „write” the message „I’m bored” in the sky during a test flight over the Dee estuary, on the border between England and Wales.

Although the gesture caught attention on the Internet, the company he works for says he will not be sanctioned.

According to The Guardian, the Ravenair company's Piper Tomahawk airplane took off Saturday morning from Liverpool airport for a flight of about two hours, necessary after replacing a part of the aircraft.

During the flight, the pilot spent nearly 20 minutes drawing the message "I'm bored" through repeated maneuvers, which could be seen on the Flightradar24 air traffic monitoring platform. The route was made at about 335 meters altitude and at a speed just under 100 knots.

The message was noticed by aviation enthusiasts and quickly spread on social media.

Company: "No issues"

Ravenair's operations manager, Wayne Barrett, told BBC that the test flight was justified, even though the pilot's chosen route had not been predetermined.

"I think the pilot was really a bit bored because it was just a test flight. Anyway, he showed a lot of skill," Barrett said.

He specified that the pilot will not suffer any consequences following the incident. "He has no issues, but the story has attracted a lot of attention. The plane is back in the hangar, and the pilot is now on his day off," he added.

Barrett also noted the irony of the situation: although the message suggested that the pilot was bored, its execution required a lot of concentration.
