Mihaela Buzărnescu has put forward a controversial hypothesis after Simona Halep was suspended for doping.
Miki Buzărnescu believes that Simona is the victim of a conspiracy and claims that ITIA had something against Romania.
"Something unusual happened with Simona's case. It seems they had something against our country, to punish us. If she had been from the USA, Simona would have surely been cleared in 3-4 months," said Mihaela Buzărnescu, according to Gsp.ro.
Furthermore, Buzărnescu stated that she is convinced Simona can soon return to the top 50 WTA.
"Without a doubt, she could return to the Top 50, her level could be there in 6-8 months. Other players have proven it. Svitolina returned after giving birth and was quickly in the Top 20 from the start. Simona has the capabilities to return there. I don't know if she will return to the Top 10, but she can definitely return to the Top 50 by the Australian Open. The rest is a bonus for her," Buzărnescu added.
