Just a few days separate us from the Winter Holidays and, consequently, from vacation. That’s why the weather forecast for this period becomes essential. And, fortunately, meteorologists have good news.
Christmas comes with warmer weather than usual for this period, and temperatures remain high in most parts of the country until almost the end of the year.
According to the ANM forecast for the next four weeks, a slight cooling is expected only after December 29, while the beginning of January brings values close to the usual averages.
Week of December 15–22 - Warmer than usual weather
The weather will be warmer than usual across the country, with more pronounced positive temperature deviations in mountainous areas.
Precipitation will be scarce, with a deficient rainfall regime nationally.
Week of December 22–29 – Christmas with temperatures above average
During the Christmas week, average temperatures will remain above normal values in all regions. Precipitation will be more abundant locally in the southern part of the country, while in the northwest, quantities will be below the period's average.
In the rest of the areas, they will be close to normal.
Week of December 29 – January 5 – slight cooling for New Year's
After December 29, temperatures will slightly decrease below the usual averages for this period, nationwide.
Precipitation will be deficient in the northwestern regions, while in the rest, they will generally be around normal values.
Week of January 5–12 – return to seasonal norms
At the beginning of January, temperatures will be close to those typical of the period in all regions. Precipitation amounts will have a slightly deficient trend in the west and northwest, while in the rest of the country, they will mostly be normal.
