Kamala Harris's husband was kicked out by Trump from the Holocaust Museum in Washington

The husband of former Democratic vice president Kamala Harris, Doug Emhoff, announces that he has been removed from the Board of Directors of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, a new illustration of current Republican President Donald Trump’s efforts to rid himself of the „vestiges” of his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden.

The Board of Directors, which oversees the Holocaust Museum in the American capital, has 63 members, of which 55 are appointed by the American president, reports AFP.

"Remembering and educating about the Holocaust should never be politicized," expressed regret on Tuesday in a statement Doug Emhoff, married since 2014 to the defeated Democratic candidate in the November presidential elections.

"Turning one of the worst atrocities in history into a source of dissent is disgraceful and dishonors the memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis, for the preservation of which this museum was created," wrote this mosaic faith lawyer on Instagram.

In his role, Doug Emhoff has made fighting anti-Semitism one of his priorities.

"The Straight Path"

According to The New York Times, the Trump administration has begun to dismiss other officials appointed by Joe Biden to this Board of Directors, including Ron Klain, former chief of staff to the former Democratic president, or Susan Rice, national security advisor to Barack Obama.

In mid-February, Donald Trump decided to dismiss several members of the Kennedy Center Board of Directors, a cultural institution in Washington that he announced he wanted to put on "the straight path."

The Republican president has banned in this concert hall in the capital shows that he considers "shameful" for America, such as drag queen performances, and appointed one of his loyal supporters, Richard Grenell, to lead it on an interim basis.

At the end of March, Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at taking control of the content at the Smithsonian Museums, institutions in Washington that he accuses of "racial ideological indoctrination."
