Rapid Bucharest is sitting on a powder keg after the drastic failure on Saturday evening against CFR Cluj at home, with a score of 1-4 in the third round of the play-off.
Fans have strongly demanded the resignation of Cristiano Bergodi, and today an emergency meeting was held at the club’s headquarters to establish the measures that need to be taken from now on at the club under Grant. And the majority shareholder of the Giulești team, Dan Șucu, has decided the fate of the Italian, stating a short while ago that Bergodi will remain at the club, at least until summer: „Cristiano Bergodi is and remains the coach of Rapid. It’s not primarily a 100% pure problem from the coach’s point of view, but an issue with some of the players who have not shown the right mentality lately.
They have a blasé attitude towards Rapid, towards the Rapid colors, towards the supporters, despite the ideal conditions they have at our club. You will soon see the measures we will take in this regard," Șucu declared to Fanatik newspaper.
Rapid has invested heavily during this latest competitive break, in the winter transfer market, when Rapid made transfers worth 3,250,000 euros for the signings of Ermal Krasniqi, Claudiu Petrila, Borisav Burmaz, Marian Aioani, Cătălin Vulturar, Florent Hasani, Damjan Djokovic, and Jakub Hromada.
Rapid is in 4th place in the championship, in the top 6, risking falling 13 points behind the leader FCSB if they also win against Craiova at home.
