Gazzetta dello Sport found the major issue in Simona Halep's doping case: "She has exposed herself"

Italian journalists from Gazzetta dello Sport have found the major issue in Simona Halep’s (33 years old) doping case, compared to that of Jannik Sinner.

Returning to the court after appealing to CAS, following a four-year suspension imposed by ITIA, Simona Halep commented on the doping case in which Italian Jannik Sinner is involved, and Gazzetta dello Sport has compared the cases of the two.

The Italians argue that Simona "did not have a competent team" and "exposed herself to significant risk when she took that new, untested supplement (note - Keto MCT, recommended by Patrick Mouratoglou and his team)."

Furthermore, Gazzetta dello Sport highlights another fact that influenced ITIA's decision in Simona Halep's case, unlike that of Jannik Sinner, who was forgiven by the integrity agency.

"By not having a competent team, Simona Halep exposed herself to significant risk when she took that new, untested supplement. Moreover, the double Grand Slam winner had the opportunity to consult specialized doctors to assess whether to take that supplement or not, and she did not do so.

In this case, her physiotherapist and fitness trainer were not considered individuals with the scientific and medical skills necessary to prescribe or recommend dietary supplements. As a result, the tennis player took a product voluntarily, trusting the advice of her staff, but nothing happened without her knowledge," writes Gazzetta dello Sport.
