FRF has found a replacement for Edi Iordănescu

The Romanian Football Federation has found a replacement for Edi Iordănescu (46 years old), the coach who led Romania at EURO 2024 and whose contract ended after leaving the final tournament.

Edi Iordănescu’s departure from the helm of the Romanian national team is starting to take shape, and Răzvan Burleanu, the president of the FRF, is not sitting idly by.

According to Digi Sport, Burleanu has the "ideal option" for the position of the Romanian national team coach. It is about Cristian Chivu (43 years old), a coach who fits the profile appreciated by the federation president: a good image and already has the necessary apprenticeship.

The source mentioned writes that the former captain of the national team, Cristian Chivu, has become the favorite to take over the technical bench of the national team, despite the fact that the list of candidates to replace Edi Iordănescu included names such as Adrian Mutu, Marius Șumudică, or Laurențiu Reghecampf, coaches with more experience.

Cristian Chivu left Inter Primavera, with which he won the title in the 2021-2022 season, and is waiting for offers.
