The place where time seems 9% slower for most people

A recent study has identified a place where time seems to pass 9% slower, and almost anyone can experience this.

Researchers have confirmed that this unique perception of time occurs when we are at the gym, specifically while using a stationary bike.

If this has happened to you too, you are not alone! Science backs you up!

In the study, subjects pedaled on a stationary bike and, at certain intervals, were asked to estimate time. They were all part of a 4,000-meter "race."

Surprisingly, almost all of them estimated time passing about 9% faster than it actually was, as reported by Popular Mechanics.

In other words, time does indeed pass more slowly when you are exercising, conclude the authors of the study, specialists in sports psychology from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, who still cannot explain the phenomenon.

Interestingly, at times other than when they were exercising, the subjects had no trouble accurately estimating the passage of time. Even the level of effort exerted did not seem to be relevant, having no impact on the perception of time passing, as shown in a report published in the journal Brain and Behavior.
