Romanian Post has launched, on Wednesday, a real estate portal through which 500 properties will be put up for rent.
„The Post has around 2,000 properties.
Out of the 2,000, 1,000 are within the postal circuit, so we do not touch them.
The remaining 1,000 are being rented out. Out of the 1,000 that are available for rent, we already have 500 rented out and 500 that we are loading onto the platform.
Of those already rented out, last year we rented out 120 more, which did not have a rental contract, and renegotiated about 300. So in conclusion, we still have around 50-100 that need to be renegotiated, but probably the rental price was good there and we did not prioritize them," announced the Post's general director, Valentin Ștefan, in a press conference.
The company has spaces that have not been used for several years and will be put up for rent.
In addition, some of the postal units have hundreds of square meters, and the company needs smaller areas.
In these cases, the locations can be divided in two and a portion of the space can be rented out.
Moreover, there are 20-30 units closed at a national level. Those spaces will enter the rental circuit.
Romanian Post will put up for rent commercial spaces and office spaces, apartments that were intended for employees, as well as land.
Claudiu Ilie, manager within the real estate business unit, stated that the platform will be used exclusively for the company's properties.
In 2021-2022, the company's rental income was 700,000 lei monthly. Currently, the company has increased rental income to 1.1 million lei per month.
