Japanese Ambassador Promotes Pleșcoi Sausages and Mud Volcanoes: “My Shoe Was Swallowed” (Video)

The Ambassador of Japan to Romania, Takashi Katae, recounts through a video clip a funny moment when his shoe got swallowed by mud after a visit to Muddy Volcanoes, as part of a meeting he had with the leadership of the County Council (CJ) Buzău.

The Ambassador of Japan shared a short video on the Instagram and Facebook accounts of the Japanese Embassy about his experiences in the county.

„In the video, the ambassador presents in a relaxed manner some of the emblematic places and products of Buzău: the Muddy Volcanoes at Pâclele Mari, the Baths at Pietroasele, as well as the local gastronomy with the Pleșcoi sausages and the Buzău pretzels,” CJ Buzău transmitted on Wednesday.

The official visited the Muddy Volcanoes reservation in "Buzău Land" and tasted the local dishes.

"I am at Pâclele Mari in Buzău, a place known for the Muddy Volcanoes. Because the surface mud was so sticky, my shoe was swallowed by the mud.

These are the Pleșcoi sausages. Now I will try the Buzău pretzels.

Greetings from the ruins of the baths at Pietroasele," Ambassador Takashi Katae conveyed in a video posted on the official page of the Japanese Embassy in Romania.

In early March, the ambassador traveled to Buzău for a discussion dedicated to the development of the Romanian-Japanese relationship at a regional level. The official was received by the President of CJ Buzău, Marcel Ciolacu, and at the end of the meeting, there was also a visit to the Bank of Plant Genetic Resources, where the institution's director, researcher Costel Vânătoru, recalled that the project took shape with Japanese support following the visit of the Director of the Institute of Horticulture from Japan in 1992.
