AtlasIntel, the company that was closest to the official result of the elections for the Mayor of the Capital in 2024, indicates an unprecedented tight race for the December 7th scrutiny.
According to the most recent research (conducted between November 12-14) for HotNews, the top four candidates are grouped within a tiny difference of only 1.3%, practically falling within the statistical margin of error of ±2%.
The leader of the pack is the liberal Ciprian Ciucu, credited with 19.2%, followed by:
- Daniel Băluță (PSD) – 18.6%
- Cătălin Drulă (USR) – 18.1%
- Anca Alexandrescu (AUR, independent) – 17.9%
The AtlasIntel poll, which in 2024 had the smallest error compared to the voting results for the General Mayor (errors below 1% for most key candidates), also brings a major surprise: Ana Ciceală (SENS Party) is rated at an impressive 7.1%, well above the estimates of other polling firms.
In the sovereignist camp, alongside Anca Alexandrescu (17.9%), we also have Virgil Zidaru (Makaveli) with 2.8% and George Burcea (POT) with 0.5%, indicating a fragmentation of this voting segment.
The random digital recruitment method (Atlas RDR) used by AtlasIntel targets the "likely electorate," meaning the voters who actually show up at the polls.
