Iran could resume uranium enrichment "in a few months," warns the head of the IAEA

Iran has the technical capacity to resume uranium enrichment „in a few months,” said the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi.

Almost a week after the US bombing of the nuclear sites at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, there is a broad agreement, even in Tehran, that the installations have been significantly affected, according to AFP.

"There has been significant damage, but not total (...) Iran could have, in a few months, functional centrifuges to produce enriched uranium," said Rafael Grossi, on Friday, in an interview for CBS that is set to air on Sunday.

Another key issue is related to the stocks of over 400 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium, which could theoretically be used to produce over nine atomic bombs if the enrichment level were increased to 90%.

In an interview set to air on Sunday on the American channel Fox News, in the show "Sunday Morning Futures," Donald Trump assured that the Iranian uranium stocks were not moved before the American strikes.

"It's a very difficult thing to do, and we didn't give any warning (before the bombing, editor's note)," he said, according to excerpts from the interview.
