Raul Florucz (23 years old), the footballer from Olimpija Ljubljana, could be „lost” by the Romanian Football Federation and the Romanian national team.
The Slovenian press announces that the Austrians have gotten involved for Raul Florucz, and the coach Ralf Rangnick has put him on a waiting list regarding the national team call-up.
This comes after Florucz had started the procedures to obtain Romanian citizenship, in order to be able to play for the Romanian national team.
But the Slovenians suggest that the plans of the Romanian Football Federation could be thwarted: "A major turn of events is on the horizon and it's good for Olimpija: Raul Florucz is too good to be overlooked by Ralf Rangnick," as reported by Nogomania.
"After the Romanians showed interest in him, Raul Florucz began the procedures to obtain Romanian citizenship and be able to play for the Romanian national team. But something happened. The Austrians, who hesitated for a while, have gotten involved. Coach Ralf Rangnick has started to monitor the player and has put him on a call-up list, although for now it's a waiting list," the Slovenians further wrote.
"I have spoken with the people from the Austrian Football Federation. They told me that I am on the list and, likewise, we discussed about my future," stated Florucz, according to the same source.
