The Ukrainians have found the "evil genius" from Romania's team, after the exciting victory at EURO 2024

The Ukrainian press has found the „malevolent genius” in Romania’s team after the Tricolors’ 3-0 victory against the neighboring country in the debut match at EURO 2024.

The Ukrainians analyzed Edi Iordănescu, the coach of the Romanian national team, whom they dubbed as the „malevolent genius.”

Ukrainian journalists painted his portrait and emphasized that Junior Iordănescu is starting to follow in the footsteps of his father, Anghel Iordănescu, the former coach who led Romania to significant achievements in final tournaments in the 90s.

"The malevolent genius," the Ukrainians titled, continuing: "In 1993, Iordănescu Sr. took over the Romanian national team during its best period in history. Quarter-finalists at the 1994 World Cup, and round of 16 in 1998. Anghel was recognized as the most successful Romanian coach of the 20th century. And his son, Edward, seems to be on track to become the best of the 21st century."

He was an average footballer, nothing remarkable. His famous father woke him up in time and advised him to focus on a coaching career.

He is said to have a reputation as a coach who prepares matches very well, studying all the characteristics of opponents. We can confirm this from our own experience," wrote the website football24.ua.
