Before Romania’s debut match at EURO, against Ukraine, a match we won 3-0, on the night before the game, an international player left the training camp to spend the night with his wife in another hotel.
It’s about a Ukrainian player, whose name was not disclosed, but he was one of the starters in the game at Allianz Arena in Munich. And this news was offered by Mikhail Spivakovsky, a well-known journalist from Kiev, co-host of the TaToTake show, who stated: „A Ukrainian international fled the training camp just before the first Euro match and spent the night with his wife in another hotel. The next day, he started against Romania. As far as I know, as far as many people in the football world know, there is no such thing as a player leaving for another hotel when the Euro is about to start and staying there overnight with his wife. This cannot happen. If such things happen in any normal national team, like Spain, Italy, or Germany, the player is immediately kicked out. With us, the guilty one starts as a starter on the field.”
It is known that after the match with Romania, as stated at the time by head coach Serhiy Rebrov, the first two team captains, Andriy Yarmolenko (34 years old) and Taras Stepanenko (35), asked the coach to leave them alone with the players in the locker room, which Rebrov did.
