After much talk in recent days about a possible move by Radu Drăgușin to Juventus in Serie A, his former team, the agent of the 22-year-old Romanian central defender wanted to shed some light on the situation.
Florin Manea, who has been the man behind Radu Drăgușin for some time now, a central defender for the national team and a key player in Mircea Lucescu’s team, specified that in this story about Radu’s departure from the Premier League, the officials at Tottenham have the final say.
Nevertheless, the agent debunked these rumors, which mostly stemmed from a recommendation by Mircea Lucescu to the Old Lady, stating that he knows absolutely nothing about such a move.
"Radu had a great game against Manchester City. He is now focused on the rest of the season, wanting to perform as well as possible at Tottenham. I found out about this from Italian newspapers (editor's note: regarding the transfer to Juventus); honestly, I know nothing about it. As for Juventus, as far as I'm concerned, there has been no contact. The final word will remain with Tottenham, as always in these cases, but the boy is happy there," declared Florin Manea to Tutto Juve.
The Romanian international actually grew up in Juve's youth system, which loaned him out to various teams before definitively selling him to Genoa, who transferred him last summer for 25 million euros to Tottenham. Juve is looking for a central defender in January, and on the Old Lady's list are also Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen), Jaka Bijol (Udinese), Leo Ortiz (Flamengo), and Adrian Ismajli (Empoli).
Drăgușin is announced as a starter for Spurs in the Sunday home match against Aston Villa, at 4 p.m.
