Rapid announced on Tuesday the departure of Cristiano Bergodi (59 years old) from the team.
In great danger after losing all four matches played in the play-offs, Cristiano Bergodi has left Rapid. In an official statement, Rapid announced the separation from the Italian coach.
The interim will be ensured by Bogdan Lobonț, Adrian Iencsi, and Ciprian Niță.
"FC Rapid has mutually parted ways with the Italian coach Cristiano Bergodi, after a negative series of four consecutive defeats in the first four rounds of the Play-Offs. Following these results, Rapid dropped to fifth place, just one point ahead of Sepsi OSK, the last in the Play-Offs.
Also, Luigi Ciarlantini, the assistant coach, and Ionel Colonel, the fitness coach, will not continue at Giulești, both being part of Bergodi's staff.
We thank the three of them for the beautiful moments and wish them continued success!" as stated in a statement from Rapid.
At the age of 59, Cristiano Bergodi was brought to Rapid at the beginning of the season, sitting on the team's bench in 37 matches (16 wins, 12 draws, and 9 losses).
