An ambulance on a mission was forced to pay an entrance fee at a cemetery

An ambulance from the Galați County Ambulance Service, Romania, was forced to pay an entrance fee at a cemetery in the city. The ambulance was on a mission and was transporting an unconscious person on the cemetery paths.

The incident took place on Wednesday. The ambulance entered the cemetery to provide emergency assistance to an unconscious man. He was in serious condition, so the medical staff decided to transport him urgently to the hospital.

Upon exiting the cemetery, the guard refused to let the ambulance leave without paying the entrance fee. The fee was paid by the man's relatives.

"The family paid, and the ambulance was able to leave. We contacted the company that manages the cemetery; they assured us that it will not happen again," stated Mihai Polinschi, the medical director of the Galați County Ambulance Service.

Subsequently, representatives of the institutions in Galați stated that it was an isolated incident and that all vehicles from the Ambulance Service, Police, Firefighters, and Gendarmerie have free access.
