Năsui (USR) announces that he has won the lawsuit against Iohannis regarding luxury plane trips. PSD demands an investigation commission

USR Deputy Claudiu Năsui announced on Tuesday that he won the lawsuit against Klaus Iohannis, in which he asked the President to declassify and publish expenses for his travels in recent years.

“I won the lawsuit against Klaus Iohannis. A year ago, I sued Klaus Iohannis to declassify his expenses for luxury plane trips. Not because he paid for them himself or with PNL’s money, but with your money.

I pursue these lawsuits not only for transparency but also to demonstrate to everyone that state expenses can be reduced. PNL and their PSD allies have been gorging on your money and want to continue doing so,” Claudiu Năsui wrote on Facebook.

The USR Vice President emphasizes that he has won numerous lawsuits in the past.

“I have won numerous lawsuits in the past. Some against ASF where I exposed their 16 salaries per year of thousands of euros. Others against numerous so-called 'research and development' institutes, where they receive bonuses and allowances of hundreds of thousands of euros per month, leading them to have the highest salaries in the entire Romanian state,” Năsui points out.

The deputy also states that President Klaus Iohannis has not stopped his travels with luxury rented aircraft using Romanian taxpayers' money.

“From the opposition, all we can do is expose them. That is, when the justice system still works. But we rely on their sense of decency to stop once exposed. Unfortunately, as seen, they don't have much decency.

For example, Mr. Iohannis has not stopped his travels with luxury rented aircraft using your money; he is also building a palace worth 9 million euros through RA-APPS, controlled by PNL. If we want to stop them, we need enough people demanding a reduction in state expenses and the huge taxes that the state bureaucracy indulges in,” concludes Claudiu Năsui.

PSD calls for an investigation into state expenses in the interest of Iohannis

Meanwhile, PSD parliamentarians initiated on Tuesday the establishment of a parliamentary committee to investigate state expenses made in the personal interest of President Iohannis.

The PSD parliamentary groups in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate requested on Tuesday that the Joint Standing Bureaus of the two Chambers include on the agenda a draft resolution for the establishment of a joint investigation committee regarding the expenses incurred by the Presidential Administration and other state institutions “in the personal interest of the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis.”

“Considering that, despite legitimate public interest, the Presidential Administration has refused to disclose this data, the establishment of a parliamentary investigation committee is the only legal way to bring this information to the citizens' attention,” PSD conveyed through a statement quoted by Mediafax.

According to the statement, among the objectives of the investigation committee are determining the amounts spent on: “luxury transportation/stops in Sibiu not listed in the Presidential Administration's agenda, premium accommodation during the internal and external travels of President Iohannis, ski vacations, golf courses at Vila Lac 3, renovations, and other investments made at the Neptun Villa.”

“An important objective of the future parliamentary investigation committee will be to establish the legal basis and reasons cited for the secrecy of the expenses made by the Presidential Administration and other state institutions in the personal interest of President Iohannis,” PSD states.

The investigation committee aims to uncover the amounts allocated for the refurbishment of the villa at Bulevardul Aviatorilor 86, intended as a residence for a former head of state.

The committee will consist of 15 members, to be led by a bureau comprising a president, two vice-presidents, and two secretaries.
