Daughter of Trump's emissary, after the attack on Kiev: I have a strange feeling that the Russians do not want peace

Megan Mobbs, the daughter of President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, commented on the massive attacks launched by Russia on several Ukrainian cities on the night of June 5th to 6th.

On platform X (formerly Twitter), Mobbs wrote that she has „a strange feeling that the Russians do not want peace.”

According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched a complex attack on the capital city of Kiev and other cities, targeting civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, cars, and metro lines, as reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

Intercepted rocket fragments caused significant damage, resulting in four deaths and 20 injuries in Kiev alone.

Mobbs reacted on social media in the middle of the night, writing: "Russia wants to make you believe they are hitting back, but Ukraine's precise attacks came in response to constant Russian aggression against civilians and only after Putin rejected a ceasefire. He just wants more war and all of Ukraine."

Direct message to her father

In a subsequent post, Megan Mobbs directly addressed her father: "Noisy night in Kiev, dad!" She then added, with bitter irony: "Maybe it's the explosions and gunfire in the dead of night, but I have a strange feeling that the Russians do not want peace."

Although the messages seem to be written from the Ukrainian capital, it is not clear if Mobbs was actually in Kiev at the time of the attack. However, on June 1st, she mentioned being in Odesa, another Ukrainian city frequently under the threat of Russian rockets.

Previous statements by Kellogg and Trump

Mobbs' comments come shortly after a statement by her father, Keith Kellogg, suggesting that a recent Ukrainian attack on Russian planes could be a turning point towards peace.

In turn, President Donald Trump spoke on the phone with Vladimir Putin about this attack, with the Russian leader warning that he "will have to respond."
