There is an alert on Tuesday at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant after a fire was reported.
The spokesperson for the ISU Dobrogea, Ana Maria Stoica, stated that it is occurring at a pump and the situation is under control.
"It is a minor fire, without flames, at Unit 2 of the Nuclear Power Plant. The fire, according to initial information, is at a pump. The situation is under control. We are intervening with two fire trucks and a ladder truck," said the ISU Dobrogea spokesperson, quoted by News.ro.
Ana Maria Stoica mentioned that there is no need to send a Ro-Alert message because the population is not in danger.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, cited by Mediafax, however, have stated that there was no fire, but rather a technical issue at Unit 2.
"It was a small technical issue, but no fire occurred. It was a normal water recycling pump that emitted some smoke. The system is redundant anyway, and another pump has been activated," the source conveyed.
