A new rally in support of Nicușor Dan will take place on Friday, between 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM, in Victory Square in Bucharest.
The event is characterized as a rally in support of Romania’s European and Euro-Atlantic path and is authorized, announced the Bucharest Gendarmerie, according to Mediafax.
Those who wish to participate in the rally can only bring flags, emblems, symbols of Romania, the European Union, and NATO.
According to the gendarmes, participants should not come with bulky bags or luggage, "for public safety reasons."
All kinds of weapons, explosive or incendiary materials, irritant-tear gas substances or substances with paralyzing effects, devices for electric shocks, or other objects that can be used for violent actions or disrupting their normal course are prohibited, reminds the General Directorate of the Bucharest Gendarmerie.
Currently, the organizer of the demonstration is unknown.
On Sunday, thousands of people gathered at a rally in Victory Square in the Capital, entitled "Romania in Light," initiated by independent candidate Nicușor Dan.
Participants came with flags of the EU and Romania, as well as banners with messages like "Children are pro-Europe," "Romanians are beautiful," "We vote for the mathematician, not the legionary," "We have only one way."
At the rally, Nicușor Dan delivered a message focused on hope and reconstruction, promising "that Romania everyone dreamed of."
