Series of incidents at the subway
Since the beginning of this year, several incidents have occurred at the subway in Bucharest. According to Club Feroviar, on February 15, 2024, the mechanic of a train on Line 1, Pantelimon-Dristor 2, opened the doors on the opposite side of the platform at Crângași station.
In this case, Metrorex management began a technical investigation.
A similar incident occurred three days later at Parc Bazilescu station. The train stopped at the station, but the management team (mechanic and assistant mechanic) "forgot" to open the doors. The train left towards the next station without opening its doors.
A passenger on the train knocked on the door, and when the two mechanics realized what they had done, they reversed the train without notifying the dispatcher. The passenger filed a complaint, and the two mechanics are under investigation.
Moreover, on February 27, two subway trains collided at Timpuri Noi station after one of them entered the track already occupied by the other.
