The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued two travel alerts on Tuesday, for Greece and Italy. Both Mediterranean countries will be affected by strikes.
On Wednesday, a 24-hour general strike is announced in Greece in the public sector, which is expected to disrupt activities in hospitals, schools, government institutions, as well as all types of transportation.
"It is expected that the protest action will significantly disrupt public services throughout the country. Key sectors will be involved, including public hospitals, schools, and government institutions. Public transportation (urban, rail) will be affected, with interruptions in services expected at certain times. The maritime sector will join the strike, with ferries and other passenger vessels remaining docked in ports," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
For details regarding possible cancellations or delays of public transportation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends checking their operating schedule on the official websites of the transport companies.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that in Italy on November 29, 2024, between 00:01 – 24:00, a nationwide general strike will be organized affecting the transportation sector, both public and private, including: air, rail, maritime transport, local public transport, and private transport.
"In this context, the circulation of all means of transport throughout Italy will be affected, with possible delays or cancellations of flights, trains, maritime routes, etc. Additionally, traffic on highways will also be disrupted," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.
