The Ministry of Tourism is conducting, between July 21-27, 2025, a campaign to promote Romania in the capital of Qatar, Doha.
The campaign benefits from free exposure, provided by Dooha Media, a leading company in digital outdoor advertising in the region, following a partnership established by the ministry, in the context of participating in international tourism fairs in the first part of the year.
"Qatar is currently experiencing rapid economic expansion, with a significant presence of multinational companies and an increasing focus on creative, innovative, and technological industries. In such a context, a promotion campaign for Romania, carried out in highly visible spaces, becomes an opportunity for incoming Romanian tourism," said Marian Văduva, a counselor at the Ministry's General Tourism Directorate, quoted in a press release.
The promotional video spots, signed by Charlie Ottley and owned by the ministry, will be broadcast in two formats: on the curved screens of Tawar Mall during the weekend, and for a week on the ICONO screen, located at one of the city's most circulated intersections.
The campaign's goal is to increase Romania's international visibility as a tourist destination, attract tourists from the Gulf region, and encourage collaborations between Romanian tourism operators and international agencies.
"We identified this opportunity at FITUR Madrid, in a direct meeting with the Dooha Media team, and managed to negotiate free exposure for a week on some of the most attractive media supports in Doha. Through this action, we target both the local audience and the numerous expatriate community working and living in Qatar - active people interested in travel, especially given the direct flights between Bucharest and Doha," added the ministry's representative.
Romania has not had a national stand at tourism fairs in the Gulf region since 2019, giving the campaign a special significance in the context of revitalizing regional interest in Romanian destinations.
