“Bridge Hunter”: the new ukrainian video game that lets players blow up Putin’s bridge

A Ukrainian developer has launched a new video game, „Bridge Hunter,” in which users can destroy the Kerch Bridge (Putin’s Bridge), built by Moscow to connect Russian-occupied Crimea.

In reality, the bridge, which serves as both a logistical route for Russian troops and a symbol of the Crimea occupation, has been the target of several Ukrainian attacks, the most recent occurring in December 2024.

The game, released on Thursday, November 20, on the Steam platform, allows players to use various drones and planes to bring down the bridge and the Russian equipment on it, through a simple physical simulation.

"Greetings, pilot. Prepare to launch the drone for the upcoming mission! Your objective is to prevent the enemy from using a vital bridge. You have the freedom to try out various tactics and abilities in a fully destructible environment. Your role is crucial!" according to the promotional text of the game, as reported by Kyiv Post.

The gameplay images show that the player can switch between several types of drones – including crewless surface vehicles, similar to real operations in 2023 targeting the bridge's pillars – to strike the construction with different munitions.

According to a player's review, a jar of pickled cucumbers is a usable weapon in the game – a direct reference to the real footage of an elderly Ukrainian woman throwing a jar of pickles at a Russian drone in 2022.

The game costs $8.99 and is the only title from the developer Double Light. The developer has also announced a partnership with "Come Back Alive," a Ukrainian organization supporting the military, to which it will donate 25% of all earnings until the end of the war.
