Free Consultation Campaign for Tourists on the Coast

Tourists on vacation in the southern coast of Romania, between August 12-17, will be able to benefit from free consultations from several dermatologists, endocrinologists, and pediatricians as part of the „Take Charge of Your Health!” prevention campaign.

According to a press release issued by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Carol Davila” in Bucharest, medical consultations are provided by the Romanian Society of Dermatology, the Romanian Society of Endocrinology, and the Romanian Society of Pediatrics, with the support of the Ministry of Defense and the Public Health Directorate in Constanța.

Thus, during the six days of the campaign, all those seeking consultations can turn to the 36 resident doctors and specialists who will be present at the five specially equipped work points (spacious tents of the Ministry of Defense displaying campaign banners) in the following resorts: Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mangalia.

"Already a traditional annual event, the prevention campaign of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila - 'Take Charge of Your Health!' - returns this year to the Romanian coast to offer as many medical consultations as possible to tourists during their stay on the Black Sea Coast, who will choose to sacrifice a few minutes of their vacation for a dermatological, endocrinological, or pediatric evaluation, ultimately ensuring their health safety," stated Viorel Jinga, the rector of UMF "Carol Davila."

He added that, based on previous editions' experience, which saw successive increases in the number of tourists, this year will surpass the record set in 2023, when there were 4,757 consultations and 39 cases of suspected dermatological tumor-related conditions, multiple cases of previously undiagnosed hypertension, obesity, as well as infant malnutrition were identified.

Since the launch of the "Take Charge of Your Health!" campaign - by UMF "Carol Davila" in Bucharest, in August 2021, and until last year, in the three consecutive editions, 11,197 consultations were conducted, free of charge, in approximately 1,000 hours during which doctors interacted continuously with tourists.
