The Romanian company that will produce drones, in collaboration with the Americans

A company from Romania will produce military and civilian drones. On Friday, a strategic agreement was signed in this regard with the American manufacturer Periscope Aviation.

The Romanian Minister of Economy, Ștefan-Radu Oprea, participated on Friday in the signing of the industrial cooperation agreement, as did the US Ambassador, Kathleen Kavalec.

The agreement was signed within the Black Sea Defense and Aerospace - BSDA 2024 and marks a premiere for the Romanian defense industry.

It is the first strategic partnership of a domestic company in the field of military and civilian UAV construction.

The project is a response to the increasing demand for such equipment from various industries, with a particular focus on the defense sector.

Carfil SA from Brașov has a history of over 100 years in the production of artillery weapons and ammunition and is among the most important companies in Romania's defense industry.

Periscope Aviation represents the drone division of Chartis Federal, being the latest investment of the American company, renowned for its innovation in high-performance tactical UAV systems.

Through the agreement signed on Friday, the two parties express their desire to accelerate the national potential in the production and operation of these (drone) equipment on a national scale, for both military and civilian purposes.

Thus, two protocols were signed, one regarding the development of the legislative framework and drone production in Romania.

And a second protocol regarding the development of Romanian agricultural drones production, with the aim of accelerating their widespread use in agricultural works.
