Irina Begu qualified for the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Antalya (Turkey) on Saturday, with total prizes of $115,000, after defeating Japanese player Moyuka Uchijima with a score of 7-5, 6-2 in the semifinals.
Begu (33 years old, 126th WTA), the fourth seed, secured the victory after two hours of play.
The Romanian managed to save a set point at 5-4 for her Japanese opponent (22 years old, 151st WTA) in the first set.
Begu earned a prize of $8,000 and 81 WTA points, and in the final, she will face Spanish player Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (27 years old, 121st WTA).
