National team coach Mircea Lucescu officially announced on Friday the complete squad for the last two matches in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, against Bosnia and San Marino.
The two games will take place on November 15 and 18, being crucial to at least secure the 2nd place, which leads to the playoff for World Cup qualification.
For this action, Mircea Lucescu has called up 26 players, but one of his decisions surprised everyone.
This concerns the non-selection of Olimpiu Moruțan, who was present in the previous action, against Moldova and Austria, even managing to provide two assists in the match against our neighbors. The midfielder is now not on Il Luce's list, after spending the entire match on the bench in the game against the Austrians.
Moruțan has played 11 matches for Aris Thessaloniki this season, but he has not managed to convince national team coach Mircea Lucescu.
As for the updates from our esteemed coach, it must be mentioned that Horațiu Moldovan and Alexandru Dobre did not receive the call-up telegram anymore, and in their place, Marian Aioani and Claudiu Petrila have been called up, the latter also from Rapid, like Dobre.
