Over 500 public institutions have debts to the budget

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) announced on Friday that it will send official notifications to institutions and public authorities that have not paid their tax obligations by August 31, 2025.

There are 511 public institutions that have accumulated debts of nearly 583 million lei to the state budget, which is approximately 114 million euros.

The list of debtors includes municipalities, prefectures, schools, hospitals, and ministries.

According to ANAF, public institutions and authorities can request the classic installment payment of debts without the need for guarantees, due to their legal status.

ANAF emphasizes that failure to pay outstanding debts will lead to legal measures to recover the amounts owed.

1. National Agency for Land Improvement - 136 million lei

2. National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry "Marin Dracea" Bucharest - 87 million lei

3. Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism - 29 million lei

4. Clinical Hospital of the Railways in Constanța - 17 million lei

5. Municipality of Făgăraș - 15 million lei

6. Pomological Development Station Dolj - 14 million lei

7. ECOSAL Public Service in Galați - 14 million lei

8. County Emergency Clinical Hospital Târgu Mureș - 11 million lei

9. Nades Commune, Mureș County - 8 million lei

10. Certeju de Sus Commune - 8 million lei
