Simona Halep has announced that she will no longer play in an important competition.
Our athlete stated that she will no longer play for Romania’s Billie Jean King Cup team.
"I no longer think about Fed Cup. It's a closed chapter, yes," declared Simona Halep.
Simona Halep is one of the most successful players in Romania's history at the Billie Jean King Cup, formerly known as the Fed Cup.
She made her debut in 2010 and played 32 matches, winning 22 of them. In singles, she triumphed 20 times and lost only 5 matches. In doubles, she has 2 wins and 5 losses.
Simona's last appearance for the Romanian team dates back to 2019. She was called up last year as well, but medical issues continue to bother her.
In fact, Simona increasingly talks about retiring from tennis.
