Trump has found the culprit for the fires in Los Angeles: a Democrat he calls "scum"

The American President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to take office in 11 days, reacted on Thursday to the fires devastating Los Angeles in a message posted on his Truth Social network, showing no compassion towards the victims and pointing fingers at the person he holds responsible, the Democratic governor of California.

The billionaire starts his post by nicknaming Gavin Newsom as „Gavin Newscum.”

"Scum" in English can be translated into Romanian as "scursură," an insult.

He calls him that because the governor "refused to sign the water restoration declaration that was presented to him," causing significant damage.

This text "would have allowed millions of gallons (one gallon = four liters) of water from the excess rain and snowmelt in the north to flow daily into many regions of California, including areas that are now practically burning in an apocalyptic manner," writes the future President of America.

In reality, the flames are spreading rapidly due to the drought, violent wind gusts, and the firefighters' difficulty in accessing water.

Residents of the Los Angeles region have been asked to reduce their water consumption.

"He wanted to protect an essentially useless fish called hypomesus transpacificus (...), but he didn't care about the people of California. The final price is being paid now. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, and fresh water to flow to California," writes Donald Trump.

However, the statement mentioned by Trump does not exist. "There is no document called the Water Restoration Declaration - it is pure fiction," X services led by Gavin Newsom respond.

"The governor focuses on protecting people, without playing politics, and ensures that firefighters have all the resources they need," the Democrat replied.

The protection of "hypomesus transpacificus" is at the center of environmental concerns in California for years.

This small fish, once abundant a few decades ago, characteristic of the Sacramento Delta, has almost disappeared in the 2010s due to massive water pumping in the fight against drought.

The salmon is also affected by this policy, and as a result, the entire biodiversity of the delta is impacted.

However, these issues are not among the concerns of the climate-skeptic billionaire turned president, who wants to continue supplying water to farmers, regardless of the environmental consequences.
