One person died on Friday after two boats collided on the Sulina Canal and one overturned.
Representatives of the Tulcea Emergency Situations Inspectorate (Romania) announced that firefighters were called to intervene on Friday morning, through a 112 call, in the case of a naval accident on the Sulina Canal, near the Partizani locality.
Two boats were involved in the incident. One had only its driver on board, while the other had three people.
"Following the impact, one of the boats overturned, two of the individuals involved managed to reach the shore on their own before the intervention forces arrived, and a third person was pulled out of the water by the driver of the second boat. Unfortunately, the medical teams at the scene confirmed the death of this person. All individuals involved in the accident were taken by ambulance crews for evaluation," the statement concludes.
