Why did Google representatives come to Bucharest and what did they sign with the Government

This morning we found out that a private plane owned by Google and often used by the executives of the American IT giant has landed in Bucharest.

Later on, there were explanations from the Romanian Government, that signed a memorandum of understanding with Google’s cloud division, for expertise regarding several projects related to digitizing public services, including the implementation of AI technologies.

The press release does not provide specific details about the collaboration, but we know that Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu had a meeting with Google representatives and participated in the signing of this memorandum, in the context of the projects that our country will develop in digital infrastructure, innovation, and research.
