Răzvan Lucescu says no to the Romanian national team: "The doors are closed"

A top coach has turned down the Romanian national team, at a time when it is uncertain if Edi Iordănescu will continue.

Răzvan Lucescu has rejected any discussion of returning to the national team from the start.

He says he rules out the possibility of being a national team coach again and is focusing solely on his work at PAOK Thessaloniki.

"I have stated that the national team, national teams are closed for the moment as far as I am concerned.

I don't see myself coaching a national team again! I like it here, at PAOK Thessaloniki, I like being on the field, I like being involved day by day. It's a completely different profession. One is that of a national team coach, another is that of a club coach," said Răzvan Lucescu, according to GSP.

If Edi Iordănescu does not continue with the Romanian national team, the favorites to take over as coach are Adrian Mutu and Ladislau Boloni.

Both are free agents and have been desired in the past by the Romanian Football Federation.
