Greek champion with PAOK Thessaloniki, Răzvan Lucescu (55 years old) has received offers to leave the team.
Cagliari, who wants to replace the legendary Claudio Ranieri, as well as the Turks from Beşiktaş, wanted Răzvan Lucescu immediately after the title won by the Romanian coach with PAOK in Greece.
However, Răzvan Lucescu said "no" to them and chose to stay at PAOK, with whom he will aim for a spot in the Champions League group stage. Mircea Lucescu, Răzvan's father, announced the decision his son made.
"It's already settled. He was in Rome (note: Cagliari also wanted him). He's staying in Thessaloniki! Last time, he left for Al-Hilal. Now he wants to play in the UCL with PAOK.
I would have liked to see him in Turkey as well. He also turned down Beşiktaş. His presence in international football is appreciated. I thank him for carrying on my passion for football," said Mircea Lucescu, on Digi Sport.
Răzvan Lucescu has two league titles with PAOK Thessaloniki in his record, as well as two Greek Cups, and also the league title and the Saudi Arabian Cup with Al-Hilal, as well as the AFC Champions League.
