"July 17, 2014 - the day I transferred to Real Madrid, was the day that changed my life. My life as a footballer - but especially as a person. It was the beginning of a new chapter at the greatest club in the world. After 10 years, at the end of this season, this chapter comes to an end. I will never forget that period of success! I would like to thank especially all those who welcomed me with open arms and trusted me. But above all, to you, dear 'madridistas', for your affection and love from the first day until the last. My football career will end this summer, after the European Championship. As I have always said: Real Madrid is and will be my last club. I am happy and proud that I have found the right moment for this decision in my mind and that I could choose it on my own. My ambition has always been to end my career at the peak of my performance level. From now on, there is only one thought: onwards to the 15!!! HALA MADRID Y NADA MAS! (n.r. onwards to the 15!!! HALA MADRID and nothing more)", was Toni Kroos's message.
