Romanian central defender Radu Drăgușin, Romanian international and a starter for the Romanian national team, has decided his future with Tottenham Hotspur, the team where he is licensed.
At 22 years old, Drăgușin marked his 6th consecutive match on the bench for Spurs on Saturday, in the home victory, 4-1 against West Ham, in the eighth round of the Premier League.
On Saturday evening, after the aforementioned match, the British press wrote about the Romanian defender, who had fallen into obscurity in England after receiving a red card in the match against Qarabag in the Europa League.
Drăgușin's plan is to continue fighting to convince Postecoglou that he deserves to be a starter, even though coach Postecoglu is currently relying on the duo formed by Romero and Van de Ven: "Several Italian teams, including Napoli, are closely monitoring his situation, but the 22-year-old player remains attached to Tottenham and will not seek to leave halfway through the season, even if he remains out of the team. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain Ange Postecoglou's first-choice central defensive pair, but there is confidence that Dragusin will continue to receive his fair share of minutes both in Europe and in the respective cup competitions this season.
Sources close to the player indicate that the Romanian international, who scored for his country in the 3-0 victory over Cyprus last weekend, is exclusively focused on showcasing his best qualities on the field, in an attempt to solidify his position as a starter," writes Daily Mirror.
Despite the red card received in the match against Qarabag, the former Genoa star received only a one-match suspension, which he has already served against Hungarian team Ferencvaros, a match won by Spurs 2-1. This means that he will be available for selection, depending on his physical condition, to face AZ Alkmaar in the match next Thursday, in the UEL round.
