Ionuț Radu (28 years old) made a statement full of sincerity after returning to top form at Celta Vigo.
In an interview given to the Spanish outlet AS, Radu talked about the moment he arrived at Celta Vigo, surprised by the team’s interest.
The goalkeeper attributes his excellent performances in Celta's goal to having "found his peace" and declares himself happy.
"Last year my contract with Inter expired, and in the last six months, I went to Venezia. There I started playing after a year and a half of not doing so. After three months, my agent called me and told me that Celta was interested. When I heard that, I immediately said it was okay.
Their interest surprised me because they are a Europa League team. They came to see me play, and I must have done something right for them to want to bring me here.
It is a very peaceful place, which is very important for a footballer because there are not many distractions. You can focus only on football. For me, it's the ideal place, and I really like it.
Before coming here, I was stressed because I always arrived at teams on loan from Inter. Loans penalize you a lot; you can't have continuity. Here I found my place, peace, and I am very happy. It is the best experience I have had," stated Ionuț Radu, according to AS.
Ionuț Radu played in 34 matches (3060 minutes) in all competitions of the season at Celta Vigo, managing to keep the goal "closed" in nine games.
