Romanians will enter Turkey with just their ID card. Erdoğan signed the decree

Romanians will enter Turkey only with their ID card.

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signed a presidential decree on the occasion of the visit that Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu is making to Ankara on Tuesday.

The decision will be implemented around June 1st, according to official sources.

"Romanian citizens holding a national identity card are granted visa exemption for their tourist trips and transit to Turkey with a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, as provided in Article 18 of Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection," states the decree signed by the President of Turkey.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu was welcomed on Monday at Esenboga International Airport by representatives of the authorities in Ankara.

The Head of the Government is on an official visit to Turkey on Tuesday, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, accompanied by a delegation of ministers.
